The pioneers in 1924
The beginnings of the ÉCLAIR® zipper
This famous zipper, born in the United States in the 19th century, only arrived in France in 1924. In 1891, Whitcomb Judson, now considered the inventor of the zipper, created the first prototype that fastened using hooks and eyelets.
In its early days, the ÉCLAIR® ZIPPER was quite simple, but it has been refined over time to become a sophisticated product, adapted to different uses. Gradually, the zipper became an essential accessory, not only in fashion or leather goods, but also in furniture and many other sectors at the forefront of innovation.
